The African House Snake Care Sheet  & eBook

The Care Sheet

To get the most in depth care sheet on African House Snakes just fill out the form on the right side of this page.  I have been asked often why you have to join our mailing list to get the care sheet when most breeders just publish care sheets on their websites.

Unlike most care sheets ours will not be static, it will be updated with new information about once a month.  Each time we update it we will send you a quick notification that the new version is available.  In time this document will actually become more of a book then a simple care sheet.

The eBook

When you join our email list we will also send you a free eBook (an eBook is a book in electronic format that you can download and read on your PC or print out).   The eBook we will send you is "The Reptile Book" by Raymond L. Ditmars.   This book was originally published in 1907 and is the foundation of modern herpetology.  A copy belongs on the shelf of every reptile enthusiast but you can't even get it anymore in print.  Used copies in good shape sell for more then $200.00 at times on Amazon.com.

But there is something most people don't know, once a book is more then 100 years old it may be copied and distributed for free.  I can't sell it, and I don't want to but I can give you a free electronic copy.  Don't think that a 100 year old book is not valuable to the modern herper, there is a reason people pay hundreds for an original hard bound copy.  As I grew up reading every book I could find on snakes it was Ditmars classic that was referenced more then any other source.

"The Reptile Book", by Raymond L. Ditmars, covers thousands of species and is a comprehensive, popularized work on the structure and habits of the turtles, tortoises, crocodilians, lizards and snakes which inhabit the United States and northern Mexico.    The best part is you get a 100% free copy with illustrations and hundreds of original period photographs.

The Other Emails

I have also often been asked, "so if I join your email list what other stuff are you going to fill my email box with".  Look to be blunt we are NOT GOING TO SPAM YOU.  Spammers are scum!  If I had my way they would all get reincarnated as feeder mice!  That said I am a breeder of house snakes and I sell them a few times a year along with some other lesser known African Colubrids.

When I have snakes available I post it on our House Snake Blog and I also drop a quick email (about two sentences) to our list letting them know about an update.  When I add a new article I might send again a short email just saying hey we have a new article about XYX.  I am also considering creating some video products like one that teaches you how to build Display Enclosures and another that shows you how to build Breeder Racks.  Those are "may be someday projects" that may or may not happen.

In any event I think you get the point, I won't be emailing you about Viagra, the latest um, Adult Toy or telling you that you just won the Suckers Lottery so send my your bank account number so I can wire the money to you.  I won't provide your email address to anyone else either.  When you join the HouseSnake.net email list that is all you do, sure you will still get junk email from people and probably more in the future I just won't have anything to do with it.

Remember my picture is on the home page, an internet search for my name will tell you more about me then you probably know about your next door neighbor, that is because I have nothing to hide and several business to maintain.  I can't afford the bad press of spamming people.  Now come on, just get the free stuff and if you ever don't like the list just click a link and you're off it.  We use a professional automated email system that honors any unsubscribe request immediately.
